Full description

Do you love the mountains, skiing, exploring unspoilt places and experiencing epic thrills on fresh snow? Have you ever heard of Snowkiting? Find out with a 4-hour mini-course designed for those who want to approach this fantastic sport!

Using only the power of the wind, the kite will tow you over the snow both on the flat and uphill, allowing you to explore the enchanting and unspoilt places of the Aosta Valley, in close contact with nature. Snowkite will soon become your 'personal ski lift', completely free and 100% ecological.

Snowkiting is nothing more than the winter version of the now very popular kitesurfing sport. The kite's traction principle and its control are in fact very similar. Simply, a snowboard or skis are used instead of a surfboard.

For this reason, snowkiting can also be used as an ideal propaedeutic and then, in summer, continue to have fun surfing the waves of the sea in the wind. Traction kiting is an activity with great potential and can be practised on any type of surface and in any season of the year.

It should be emphasised that with this sport, one does not fly, although one can perform jumps and acrobatics using the kite to lift oneself off the ground. These evolutions are performed completely voluntarily and it is recommended to practice them only after becoming an expert and having acquired complete control of the equipment.

What we will do

The day starts at 08:00 in Saint-Pierre (AO), with a small theoretical introduction that will enable you to understand and learn how to analyse the weather conditions, the spot, the equipment, the effects of the wind, the area in which the kite will fly, and much more.

You will then move on to practice, flying the trainer kites through different techniques and movements. Next you will be shown the set-up of a 4-line foil kite, how to launch it, land it and fly it safely. Once familiar with various flying techniques, you will be able to introduce your board or skis and start making your first attempts at riding.

Snowkiting is nothing more than the winter version of the now very popular kitesurfing. The principle of pulling the kite and its control are in fact very similar. Simply, a snowboard or skis are used instead of a surfboard.

The course starts with a minimum of 3 participants and each group can reach a maximum of 4 participants per instructor.

Although the amount of information you will have to memorise during the first day is high, the 1-day course is 80% practical and you will spend most of your time flying the kite.

The course will last 3 hours.
