Learn the basics of Snowkiting with a 3-hour beginners' course at Lake Resia in the province of Bolzano.
Our Snowkite test course is designed for those who are still not quite sure whether this is the right winter sport - we offer a general overview of the world of Snowkiting. You will probably be fascinated by it soon and will not want to stop.
Theoretical and practical basics of wind and equipment handling will be provided and skis will not be used. At the end of the course, those who have proved themselves prepared will be able to make their first metres on skis and sail!
The course takes place on Lake Resia, a place famous for kitesurfing in summer and perfect for snowkiting in winter, as soon as the lake freezes over and snow covers it!
What we will do
In the first part of the course you will learn the basics of the theory. Terms and their meaning will be explained. What is a wind window? How to fly a kite and how can I control it? A little physics and a lot of safety. How does the kite behave in the different areas of the window? What sail size should be used in relation to the wind? Which areas are ideal for this sport? Come and discover all this and much more.
In the second part of the test course we will practise using the equipment. This means that a lot of practice will be given with regard to flying in the Snowkite area. We will make you comfortable with glider control, take-off andlanding. We have devised a whole training programme for safe and easy piloting for guaranteed fun.
For those who show more familiarity, the last part of the course will be reserved for making the first metres with skis and glider, an extraordinary feeling!
Who it is aimed at
The course is designed for anyone wishing to approach this discipline. A good level of skiing/snowboarding is recommended, but no experience with snowkiting is required.
Other information
The course takes place from December to March in groups with a maximum of 4 participants. The technical equipment (trapeze / sail) are provided by the instructor and included in the price.
If you do not have your own ski/snowboardequipment , you can hire it from specialised shops in the resort.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is very strict. You get a full refund if you cancel within 31 days from the activity start date. Within 30 and 15 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
