Full description

The Rio Lerca, in the province of Genoa, offers one of the most beautiful and enjoyable routes for canyoning enthusiasts and for all those who want to try a new, exciting activity in contact with nature.

You will follow the course of the torrent along an itinerary that winds through a beautiful naturalistic area of Liguria, amidst intense blue-green waters and rocks of serpentine, a mineral with characteristic greenish hues.

A Canyoning Adventure that will lead you to discover wonders and experience emotions, such as diving from a rocky outcrop into a crystal-clear pool, or letting yourself be carried away by the current on natural slides. A discipline that mixes water sports and mountaineering, swimming stretches and abseiling. You'll be dying to try it!

What we will do

We will meet in Arenzano, in the province of Genoa, where we will meet the guide who will accompany us during the activity and who will provide us with thenecessary equipment. After that, we will drive to the point where we will begin the actual hike, not before having a briefing on safety rules and basic progression techniques.

The adventure begins after a 30-minute walk through the Ligurian vegetation. Then we will begin the exploration of the spectacular Rio Lerca canyon. This place is known for its intense colours, made even brighter by the sun's rays reflecting off the water and rocks. We will walk through the gorges carved by the torrent in the rocks of serpentine, a mineral that gives the waters a particular blue-green colour.

The descent includes 8 abseils: for some we will use the rope, while others will allow us to dive into beautiful natural pools and swim across them. There will be no shortage of toboggans, the slides carved by the incessant flow of water over the rock, and we will have the chance to admire spots impossible to reach in any other way.

The activity takes about five hours, of which three and a half will be needed to complete the excursion. At the end, we will return to the cars, return our equipment and decide whether to stop all together at a local restaurant (price not included in the participation fee).

Who it is aimed at

This activity is of an easy level and is open to everyone. No canyoning experience is required but you must be in good physical condition and be able to swim. The minimum height must be 140 cm.
