Canyoning day with lunch and donkey activities at Piode Valsesia

Prepare to experience a whole day immersed in the most unspoilt nature, at the foot of Monte Rosa just 90 minutes from Milan and Turin. We are in Piode in upper Valsesia, in the province of Vercelli.

Canyoning in the Sorba torrent promises a route of rare beauty, immersed in a marvellous alpine setting, full of rope descents beside breathtaking waterfalls, dives of up to 10 metres (never compulsory) into crystal-clear green pools of water, perfect both for those who have already tried canyoning and for those who are new to the sport. You will slide down toboggans, natural slides carved by water erosion, swim in currents and launch yourself on ziplines and zip lines, mounted by guides above pools set in the greenest vegetation you have ever seen.

The route ends just a few metres from our base, where waiting for you after a nice hot shower will be a lunch of hamburgers made with Piedmontese meat from our valley and drinks included.

In the afternoon, after a well-deserved rest in our green relaxation area, you will have the opportunity to interact with the donkeys. We will organise activities such as ethology, donkey care, balance exercises, gentle taming, and learning about this wonderful animal.

What we will do

The meeting will be at our base in Piode(Vercelli) in the morning. After the handover of the technical equipment, which consists of a neoprene wetsuit as thermal insulation, a helmet and a harness equipped with a descender, we will have a complete briefing on the activity that will take place, including dry trials on the use of the descender in order to be able to abseil safely and independently.

A pleasant walk through the woods of about 10 minutes will take us to the entrance of the stream. The route we will take is complete with all the activities that take place in canyoning: we will walk in the bed of the stream and abseil on a rope beside the waterfalls. There will be numerous slides and dives along the descent, leading to the highlight: a 35-metre zipline across a crystal-clear pool of rare beauty.

We will swim in the current accompanied by a certified and highly trained guide, who in addition to guaranteeing safety throughout the route will teach you the basic techniques of canyoning.

Just before lunchtime we will arrive at the base, where a succulent meat burger from our valley with drinks (lunch included) will be waiting for us. After lunch we will have deservedly enjoyed a few hours of relaxation, but the most indefatigable will be able to play football or tennis on the courts at our centre.

At 15:00 Marco will arrive with the donkeys to start the activity with these beautiful animals. The activity will end around 17:00.

Who it is aimed at

This route is also suitable as a first experience, as it is not demanding from both a physical and technical point of view. Nevertheless, the context in which it takes place requires participants to have good aquatic skills, not suffer from vertigo or be afraid of heights, enjoy good health and be in good physical condition in general.

Theminimum age to participate is 10 years.

The guide will assess the weather and water conditions on a case-by-case basis to ensure that the activity is carried out in complete safety and reserves the right to postpone and/or cancel it.

The guide reserves the right to postpone and/or cancel the activity if the minimum number of 2 participants is not reached.

Attention! You must arrive at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before the time chosen for the activity.

Our base has changing rooms with hot showers, a green area with a barbecue, a children's playground, a football pitch and a tennis court for our guests' use. The photo service must be requested before the start of the activity.

We also have accommodation available for those who wish to stay overnight in the valley.
