Full description

Why join a gym when you can start practising a new sport in the middle of nature?

This Canadian canoe course in the Ticino Park will give you the basics to learn how to paddle and steer your canoe along the course of a river, together with an instructor who will follow you step by step.

6 hours of lessons between theory and practice, to spend a different day and train in a fun way!

What we will do

The appointment is at 10 a.m. at the indicated meeting point near Vigevano (PV), in the Ticino Park.

Here we will meet our instructor, who will hand over all the equipment required for the course. We will begin with an initial theoretical part of about 60 minutes, in which we will familiarise ourselves with the characteristics of the Canadian canoe, the various techniques, and the unique river environment in which we find ourselves, along the course of the Ticino river.

We will then climb into our canoe (single or double) and enter the water to begin the practical part. Under the guidance of the instructor, we will learn how to navigate the river with stability and safety, thanks also to the ideal manoeuvrability offered by this type of canoe.

After three hours of activity in the morning, we will stop for a packed lunch break (not included), which will last approximately one hour. In the afternoon, we will resume the exercises in the water for another 3 hours and, depending on our level, we may also try our hand at a short descent along a quiet river channel.

The duration of the activity will be about 7 hours, including 6 hours of lessons and a lunch break.
