Full description

A weekend without TV and Wi-Fi, just you and the wilderness. Could you do it?

If the answer is yes, then you can't miss our 2-day survival course in Bagno di Romagna, where you'll leave behind everything you know to learn how to fend for yourself in the wilderness. Together with experienced instructors, you will discover how to build a fire, build a shelter, find your way in the woods and much more.

This is the perfect opportunity to test yourself and get your fill of adventure. We are waiting for you!

What we will do

We will meet on Saturday at 9 a.m. in Bagno di Romagna (FC) and, after meeting the instructors and the other participants, we will drive up to an altitude of 500 metres to reach base camp.

We will spend this first day in the Rio Salso Valley with a series of activities that are fundamental for survival. In a mix of theory and practice, we will learn how to:

  • Setup a safe and organisedcamp;
  • Light a fire effectively, using different types of primers;
  • Build a shelter using natural materials;
  • Use the pocket knife appropriately and safely;
  • Tie basicknots useful in emergency situations.

The evening will be a true return to basics: we will have the opportunity to sleep under the stars in shelters built with our own hands. If we prefer a more comfortable solution, we can opt for a tent or, in case of bad weather, for a heated yurt provided by the organisers.

For dinner, we will cook together! We will team up to prepare simple and nutritious dishes, based on local ingredients such as porcini mushrooms, corn, cheese, polenta... (vegan and vegetarian options also available). It will be an opportunity to learn more about mountain foods, learn how to preserve them and discover tricks for true survivalist cooking.

After a night in the wilderness, on Sunday we will devote ourselves to new survival challenges. The second day will be entirely practical and we will focus on:

  • Waterpurification techniques;
  • Orientation in the forest without the use of technology, using only a compass and natural landmarks.

The course will end around 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is suitable for everyone from 13 years of age. Minors must be accompanied by a participating adult.

The experience is of an easy level and suitable for a first survival course.

Other information

The activity takes place throughout the year on the dates indicated in the calendar and is confirmed on reaching a minimum of 8 participants.

The meeting point can only be reached by car.

All meals are included in the participation fee. A few days before the activity, the organiser will send you a form to find out about any food intolerances or preferences.

For the night, each participant must bring his/her own sleeping bag. You will have the possibility to sleep outdoors in the shelters you build during the course or - if you prefer - in a tent. In the event of bad weather or adverse conditions, you will sleep in a heated yurt.
