Full description

Experiencing Rome does not only mean admiring the monuments and wandering the tourist streets. The true spirit of the capital and the fascination of the imperial vestiges also continues outside the centre, on a route that will take you to discover theAppia Antica.

A local guide will take you on a journey through history. In the saddle of ane-bike you will ride along the same road trodden by the Emperors and Ancient Romans, discovering their customs and traditions and admiring impressive aqueducts and fascinating catacombs along the way.

You will move around on a pedal-assisted bike which, thanks to its different levels of adjustment, guarantees comfortable use and a pleasant experience even for those who are not particularly fit.

What we will do

We will meet in Rome, near the Circus Maximus. There we will meet the guide and, having adjusted our e-bikes, we will start cycling along theAppia Antica, within the Appian Way Regional Park, of great historical, archaeological and natural interest.

The Appia Antica was a great Roman road that connected Rome to the port of Brindisi. It is universally recognised as one of the greatest civil engineering works of the ancient world for the enormous economic, military and cultural impact it had on Roman society.

On our way we will encounter impressive aqueducts from Roman times that still provide the city's water needs, and several points of interest including the Orange Garden, the Baths of Caracalla, and the Catacombs of San Callisto and San Sebastiano. The expert guide will describe in detail the history of everything we will see, guaranteeing a real journey through history!

The activity will last 3 hours and will end at the starting point.

Who it is aimed at

This activity is at an easy level and is open to everyone, with no age limit. You only need to know how to ride a bike!
