Full description
If you love skiing but are fed up with the confusion on the slopes and are looking for anexperience in close contact with nature, ski m ountaineering is the discipline for you!
Discover the purest side of the mountains, together with an Alpine Guide who will take you on the best ski mountaineering routes in theAlto Garda and Lombardy Pre-Alps area, straddling the provinces of Trento, Brescia and Bergamo.
On this introductory day you will learn the techniques of ascending with sealskins, and then launch yourself at full speed into fantastic off-piste descents. Are you ready for adventure?
What we will do
The meeting with the Alpine Guide will take place at 7:30 a. m. in Arco (TN ) or directly at the location chosen for the ski mountaineering day (to be agreed upon after booking).
Within a radius of a few dozen kilometres, the areas of lower Trentino,Upper Garda Brescia and the Bergamo Pre-Alps offer numerous ski mountaineering itineraries. The guide will choose the most suitable route according to the level of the group and the weather conditions.
In small groups of a maximum of 4 participants, we will begin the introductory day with a theoretical lesson on assessing snow conditions and the principles ofself-rescue using probe, shovel and artva.
We will then prepare the equipment and devote ourselves to the essence of ski mountaineering: climbing with sealskins. With this technique, we'll tackle an altitude difference of between 600 and 800 metres and, once we reach the top, we'll embark on a stupendous off-piste descent, learning how to best manage off-piste routes.
During the day, we will alternate theory and technique, stopping to recover energy when necessary. The activity will last a total of about 7 hours and will end with a return to the initial meeting point.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is open to anyone who would like to try ski mountaineering. The only requirements are to be able to ski with familiarity on blue pistes and to be in good physical condition to cope with an altitude difference of between 600 and 800 m. You can participate from 16 years of age.
