Full description
Set out to discover Procida, the Phlegrean pearl Capital of Culture 2022. You will discover its history, traditions and colourful alleyways.
You will be enchanted by the landscapes that will accompany you on your walk . Meanwhile, an expert guide will tell you many secrets and curiosities of the area.
If you want to discover the historical centre of Arthur Island, this is the excursion for you. Backpack on your shoulders, get ready to go!
What we will do
The meeting point is the port of Procida. Here we will meet the guide and the rest of the group and after the necessary introductions, our trekking tour on the Phlegrean island will begin.
We will set off along a 4.2 km guided trail during which we will reach amaximum height of 90 m above sea level. Right from the start, we will find the Church of Santa Maria della Pietà, built in 1760 on the foundations of a pre-existing chapel, founded in 1616 by the island's sailors and, for this reason, known as the Sailors' Church.
From here we move on to one of Procida's landmarks, a real picture postcard. This is the Corricella, a 17th-century harbour renowned for its distinctive architecture of arches, domes, windows, steps, loggias, stairs and pastel-coloured facades.
We will climb up to the castle and continue our journey on the island to Terra Murata, from where we will enjoy a breathtaking view of the entire Gulf of Naples. Once at the top we will find the Palazzo d'Avalos, built in the mid 16th century.
Immediately afterwards, we will reach theAbbey of San Michele, the oldest church on the island, built between the 8th and 9th centuries, which over time has undergone multiple architectural stratifications that have made it the imposing complex it is today. After admiring the wonderful view of the sea overlooked by the abbey, we will move on to the lower part of the island and return to the point where we met to end our excursion.
The tour takes about 3 hours, of which 2 hours are on the outward journey and 1 hour on the return.

The tour is simple and open to all, with no age limit, but children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
