Full description
Immerse yourself in the nature of theAlta Maremma in the saddle of an elegant and regal animal. On this horseback excursion you will discover the Colline Metallifere (Metal-bearing Hills), so called because they have been exploited since ancient times for their iron ore deposits.
Country paths, stream beds, dense woods and dreamy cottages will provide the backdrop for the rides that you will enjoy together with an exceptional travelling companion, riding through the hills of the Maremma.
Accompanied by an environmental equestrian guide, you will experience the magic of horse riding andequitourism. And if you have never ridden a horse, no problem, we will teach you, making you passionate about a wonderful activity.
What we will do
The meeting point will be at a farm near Montieri, in the province of Grosseto. The guide will welcome us by offering us coffee in the clubhouse, introduce us to the riding school staff and give us instructions and advice on how to approach the horses.
After approaching the quadrupeds and socialising with them, we will have a briefing to go over riding techniques, learn how to use the harness and learn safety rules. Those who wish can actively participate in harnessing, helping the riding school staff. This will be followed by a warm-up on horseback and those who are new to riding will be helped with their first steps and will be able to practise a little before setting off on the ride.
We will be riding on docile, well-trained horses for an outing suitable for riders of all levels. It will be a 1.5-hour ride in relaxation and nature, on routes along ancient mining routes, ancient springs and plateaus that were home to the first animal-drawn railways for transporting ore.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is at an easy level and is open to everyone. The only requirements are to be at least 14 years old and weigh no more than 85 kg.

Attention. You must arrive at the meeting place at least 15 minutes before the time chosen for the activity.
Helmets are compulsory for everyone and are provided by the riding stables, as is a protective jacket for minors.
During the riding outings, care will be taken to form groups at the same level of experience. An attempt will be made not to put experts and beginners together, unless expressly requested. In that case, groups will be conducted with the less experienced rider in mind.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is strict. You get a full refund if you cancel within 15 days from the activity start date. Within 14 and 8 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
