If history and horse riding are your passions and you already have horse riding experience, don't miss the horseback ride to the Etruscan Necropolis of Banditaccia, in the Cerveteri Archaeological Park.
Riding in this place, among ancient ruins and incredible natural scenery, will give you unique emotions. You will visit an archaeological site of no less than 400 hectares, where it is said great kings and princes were buried; on horseback, you will enter a river bed and ride along beautiful scenic paths.

What we will do
The appointment is 15 minutes before the time indicated in the booking at the riding school in Cerveteri, not far from Rome.
We will be welcomed here by a certified equestrian guide who will hold a briefing of about 10 minutes, during which we will go over the techniques of horse handling and American-style riding.
After this first phase, we will climb into the saddle and begin our ride. We will ride along an initial asphalted stretch to reach the town of Cerveteri and the Church of Sant'Antonio. We will then enter the woods of Cerveteri until we reach a river with a small artificial waterfall.
It will be really exciting to enter the river bed on horseback, immersed in this splendid natural setting. Afterwards, we will reach the Etruscan Necropolis of Banditaccia, one of the largest necropolises in the ancient world. It stretches for more than 2 km and contains a gigantic tomb complex, where it is said great kings and princes were buried.
At the end of the visit, we return along a scenic path. If the guide allows it, there will be the possibility on some sections to trot and gallop.
The excursion will last a total of four hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is aimed at those who already have experience on horseback: it is necessary to be able to manage all three gaits.
The minimum age for participation is 14 years.
Other information
The experience can be booked all year round except at Easter, Christmas and Boxing Day and is confirmed with a minimum number of 2 participants.
The riding is American style.
