Full description
Spend half a day in the rolling Umbrian hills on a fantastic horseback ride.
You will ride along a scenic route through age-old forests, fords, streams and sunflower fields until you reach the enchanting village of Montone. You will explore the area between Umbria and Tuscany in a new and fascinating way, in the company of an equestrian guide.
The excursion is suitable for riders with a minimum of riding experience.
What we will do
The meeting is at 9.00 a.m. at the farm in Umbertide (PG), immersed in a beautiful natural setting on the border between Umbria and Tuscany. Here we will be welcomed by the equestrian guide, who will immediately take us to meet the horses at the stables.
After a review of basic horse handling techniques, we will set off on a walk in the direction of the village of Montone. We will follow a beautiful scenic route through ancient woods, fords, streams and fields of sunflowers and corn. The equestrian guide will accompany us on horseback to ensure our safety.
After about two hours of riding, we will reach Montone. This enchanting mediaeval village dating back to the 10th century stands among the green hills of the Upper Tiber Valley and has remained unchanged over the centuries. As we dismount from our horses and stroll through its narrow streets, we will breathe in an atmosphere of times gone by.
The return journey, which will also take about 2 hours, will take place along scenic paths surrounded by greenery, allowing us to admire Montone in the distance. The activity lasts about 5 hours (depending on the pace and speed of the group) and ends with the return to the riding school.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is aimed at those with a minimum of horse riding experience, such as having already taken riding lessons or having done other horse riding. Knowledge of the different gaits, from stride to gallop, is necessary.
The minimum age to participate is 14.

The activity can be booked throughout the year, weather permitting.
Lunch is not included in the participation fee; we recommend taking a packed lunch from home.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
