Full description
Cala Violina is a real treasure. And like all the best treasures, it is difficult to reach except on foot, by bicycle or... on horseback!
You can visit it by taking part in our horseback ride to Pian D'alma: in the company of an equestrian guide, you will ride through the Mediterranean maquis of the Riserva Le Bandite di Scarlino until you reach the famous beach, where you can take a walk on the sand or cool off with a dip.
A3-hour experience in the amazing natural setting of the province of Grosseto.
What we will do
The appointment is 20 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Pian D'alma (GR). We will be welcomed at the stables by the equestrian guide who will accompany us on this adventure!
Having gathered all the participants, we will hand over theequipment and proceed to saddle up. The equestrian guide will not fail to explain the basics of horse riding to us so that we can enjoy a carefree experience.
It is then that our horseback ride will begin, in the splendid natural setting of the Riserva Le Bandite di Scarlino. We will initially enter a forest characterised by Maremma scrubland and after about 30 minutes we will take a path that skirts the beaches of Cala Civette and Cala Violina. Just near the latter we will stop, get off the horse, and take a 1-hour break during which we can stroll along the beach or cool off with a dip!
Back in the saddle, we will set off on our return journey: the ride will be enriched by the panoramic view of the sea, the Punta Ala beach and theisland of Elba. During the ride, we will be accompanied by 2 guides, who will open and close the group riding their trusty steeds. The excursion will take place at the pass, on mostly sandy terrain with gentle gradients.
After completing the loop, we will finally return to the meeting point. The horseback ride will last 2 hours, not including a break; the total experience will last 3 hours and 15 minutes.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for ages 14 and up; children under the age of 18 must be accompanied to the riding school by a responsible adult to sign the release form.
A maximum weight of 90 kg is required to participate in the activity.
The experience is of an easy level and suitable for a first horse ride.
Other information
The experience takes place all year round and is confirmed when a minimum number of 4 participants is reached.
There is free parking on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.
Any personal items such as water and swimwear will be placed in special saddlebags; backpacks and/or bags are not permitted on the walk.
Any accompanying persons may wait in the riding hall. Leashed dogs are allowed on the riding stables.
