Full description
If you think winter is all snow and cold, prepare to change your mind withice canyoning in Val Maor.
Between rock walls towering high above you and waterfalls entirely covered in ice, you will descend into the depths of a stunning canyon, including rappels, natural slides and ziplines. And thanks to your wetsuit, you'll stay completely dry and safe from the cold for the entire three-hour trip.
You will explore a surreal world of ice crystals and enchanted landscapes that seem straight out of a Nordic fairy tale. An experience that goes far beyond simple canyoning!
What we will do
We will meet the guide at 9:30 a.m. at the base camp in Borgo Valbelluna (BL).
After introductions, we will put on our waterproof suits, which do not let water pass through and allow us to stay dry for the entire experience. An initial briefing will introduce us to canyoning techniques and safety measures to best tackle the route.
Once ready, a short van ride will take us to the entrance of the canyon. Here our route will begin: we will slide between snow-covered rocks and icefalls and through natural pools. We will also find an electrifying 11-metre zipline that will give us an adrenalin rush.
The 2 km route includes natural slides known as 'toboggans', rope descents and passages between icy walls, surrounded by an enchanted scenery that almost looks like something out of a Nordic fairy tale. After about two and a half hours, a path takes us back to the van in about 30 minutes.
Back at base camp, we will dry off, change our clothes and conclude this unforgettable winter experience with a hot tea. Between briefings, the trail and various transfers, the activity lasts a total of about 3½ hours.
