If you are a mountain and adventure lover, you cannot miss the chance to try one of the most exciting winter sports:ice climbing.
This discipline consists ofclimbing along waterfalls that, in cold temperatures, turn into imposing ice walls.
An extreme sport that, with the help of a professional instructor, can be done in total safety. Try it in Livigno and get ready to push your limits!
What we will do
The meeting with the instructor is at 8 a.m. in Livigno. After a cognitive briefing and an equipment check you will set off to reach the icefall selected for the activity. The guide will choose it, depending on your level of experience and the weather conditions. Among the various possibilities are the ice walls near Lake Livigno or those in Val Vieira, Val Saliente or Val Alpisella.
Once in the presence of the icefalls, there will be a theory part to learn the basic principles of winter mountaineering and safety rules. Then, equipped with ice axes and crampons, you will tackle the first ice climbing techniques under the constant supervision of the instructor.
In order to be well looked after and to guarantee maximum safety at all times, this activity takes place in groups of 2 people plus the guide. In total, the activity lasts 7 hours, including transfers, briefing and lunch break.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is at an intermediate/advanced level and is open to people in good health and physical fitness. No previous experience in ice climbing is required. Participation is possible from the age of 16.
Other information
This activity takes place from December to April, weather permitting.
Participants must be of the same level; mixed groups are not allowed.
The day before the activity you will be contacted by the guide who will give you themeeting address according to the spot chosen for the climbing lesson.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
