Full description
Learn to drive a sailing boat on the waters of Lake Como and discover the fascination of the oldest of sailing sports in one of the most beautiful places in Italy.
With the "Baptism of Sailing" you will have 3 hours to learn the principles of navigation together with an experienced instructor and take your first steps as a skipper.
What we will do
The appointment is at 10 a.m . in Dervio, a town in the province of Lecco overlooking Lake Como. You will meet the instructor and after an introductory briefing you will be ready to board the sailing boat.
In the 3 hours at your disposal, you will alternate between theory and practice of sailing, learn nautical terminology, wind theory, basic safety rules , and practise starting, tacking, and changing direction. All under the direction of the instructor who will be on board with you and will explain step by step what to do.
It will be a small full immersion in the world of sailing, during which you will have the opportunity to experience all phases of sailing, from the arming of the boat to the return to port.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is open to everyone and is ideal for beginners. You can participate from the age of 8 and up. All that is required is to be in good health and have a fair degree of agility to move around in the boat.

This activity can be carried out all year round, weather permitting, and is confirmed upon reaching a minimum of 2 participants.
Important: the activity is strongly subject to weather conditions. The instructor will contact you two days in advance by e-mail or Whatsapp to confirm the activity.
The sailing boats used for the activity are cabin cruisers of approximately 7 metres in length.
There are no stops on land during navigation.
Dogs are not allowed on board. Free parking available.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
