Have fun aboard a kayak, navigating the waves of the sea or paddling through the current of a raging river!
The kayak is a craft that allows freedom of movement and agility. With an individual course of 6 lessons, you will discover all its secrets and learn the best techniques, in the hands of a qualified instructor.
The course is held in Recco (GE), consists of 6 lessons of 1.5 hours and is open to participants of all levels: from those who have never been in a kayak to those who want to improve technique and performance or try specialities such as river kayaking, freestyle kayaking oreskimo.
What we will do
You will meet your instructor at the kayak school in Recco (GE) at the scheduled time. Each lesson, especially if you are a beginner, includes an initial theory and preparatory part on land. After that, you will board the kayak to practice in the water.
The course programme will follow your level and objectives and will be outlined after an acquaintance briefing that will allow the instructor to get to know you and test your skills.
The first lessons will be used to familiarise you with the boat and learn basic movements and manoeuvres. Later, after acquiring a minimum of autonomy and always in agreement with the instructor, you can choose the speciality to which you want to devote yourself from the following proposals
RiverKayak: this is river kayaking, with different levels of difficulty depending on the water flow, the winding nature of the route and the presence of rapids. River kayaking lessons take place on nearby rivers or streams.
Freestyle Kayaking: involves the use of a lighter, higher-performance type of boat, which allows for freestyle manoeuvres, jumps over waves and other evolutions in rough water.
Surf Kayak and Waveski: these are hybrid kayak and surf boats that allow one to ride and cut through waves just as one would on a surfboard.
Eskimo: indicates a complex manoeuvre of righting the kayak in the event of capsizing, while remaining on board the boat. There are several types, to be practised depending on the situation: rodeo eskimo, eskimo without a paddle and backwards eskimo.
These specialities require at least an intermediate level of kayak handling. Of course, those who do not want to or are not ready to try the above specialities can continue practising traditional kayaking for all 6 lessons.
Lessons last one and a half hours and are arranged from time to time with the instructor, depending on availability and weather conditions.
