Full description
Are you a lover ofhigh mountains, are you physically fit and can't wait to conquer the highest peaks in Italy? The Marmolada cannot be missing from your list!
You will set off from Passo Fedaia on your way to Pian dei Fiacconi and then, crampons on your feet, you will tackle the largest glacier in the Dolomites, until you reach the summit at an altitude of 3,343 metres.
From there you will admire a breathtaking landscape over the entire mountain group: a unique emotion that you will remember forever. Get ready to go, the mountain guide is waiting for you!
What we will do
The appointment is at 6:00 a.m. at Passo Fedaia (2,057 m), between the municipalities of Canazei (TN) and Rocca Pietore (BL). Here we will meet the Alpine Guide, who will carry out an equipment check and a briefing on safety rules and the route we are going to face, which includes about 1,300 metres of altitude difference.
From Passo Fedaia we will walk up to Pian dei Fiacconi (2,626 m). From here we will have to put on crampons to tackle the glacier and climb up to Punta Penia, the highest peak in the Dolomites (3,343 m), via the so-called normal route.
Once we reach our destination, we will have lunch at the refuge (lunch not included in the participation fee) and remain in contemplation of the breathtaking landscape of the Fassa Dolomites. After having rested and refreshed ourselves, we will begin our descent, still along the normal route, roped together with the guide.
We will return to the starting point in the late afternoon.
