With its varied landscapes, colorful beaches, hidden coves and cliffs rising from the crystal clear water, the Island of Elba is an undiscovered treasure. Those vacationing on the island, as well as those coming from other Tuscan locations, cannot miss a boat tour to Elba. There are all kinds: from day trips to that half-day, from private tours to sailing weekends for two.
From the island, it is also possible to set sail in the direction of the other pearls of the Tuscan Archipelago, such as Pianosa o Capraia. Elba is also a popular destination for scuba divers thanks to its wonderful seabed. Finally, animal lovers also have the opportunity to go dolphin watching offshore.

Boat trips depart from Elba’s three main ports: Marina di Campo, Porto Azzurro and Portoferraio. Those who are not already on the island, however, can reach it in half an hour by ferry, leaving from the port of Piombino. You can choose to take a full boat tour of the island or shorter trips to specific locations.
It takes one day to tour the whole Elba Island, while touching on major points of interest such as Punta Calamita, Costa dei Gabbiani, Costa Verde, Sant’Andrea beach, and numerous bays, coves, and beaches that are located along the coast and can only be reached by sea. Day trips usually include lunch on board and several stops for swimming.
A half-day boat tour, on the other hand, is ideal for visiting a specific area or just one side of the island. It’s possible to embark on boat tours to the Grotta Azzurra, the Pomonte Wreck, or to explore the most beautiful beaches, such as the Terranera Beach, named after the particular coloring of its sand.
The Grotta Azzurra (Blue Grotto) is located on the west coast of Elba Island, between Cavoli and Colle Palombaia beaches. It owes its name to the deep blue color the water turns inside the cave, thanks to the sun’s rays reflecting off the seabed and surrounding rocks.
Elba Island’s Grotta Azzurra is one of the most popular destinations for adventurers, perfect for visiting even on a half-day boat tour. The clear waters of the cave lend themselves to snorkeling. So, if you decide to go, don’t forget to bring your mask and snorkel!
The price for a boat tour of the Elba Island varies depending on the starting point, duration, and type of experience. To get an idea, a trip to Marina di Campo costs around 25 euros per person. A tour to the Grotta Azzurra costs 35 euros per person. Same price for a 6-hour dolphin watching tour.
For a scuba diving experience instead, you can set sail from Portoferraio. Prices start at 45 euros per person, but you must have a scuba certification. Even beginners, however, can experience the excitement of diving with a customized dive, at a price of 80 euros per person, including all equipment.
By gifting a boat trip to Elba, you will offer the chance to discover fabulous places and spend moments of total relaxation and wonder. A boat tour is ideal to spice up your summer vacation or perhaps to enjoy a special weekend or day out, even off-season.
Those who want to celebrate an event in style can choose a boat tour of Elba with stops at the most picturesque places. In this case, it will be best to opt for a private boat rental so that you have the freedom and privacy to fully enjoy the uniqueness of the day. For example, celebrating a bachelorette/bachelorette party on Elba Island with a boat tour will be a truly unforgettable experience!

06 Sep 2023 | Boat tour to the Bue marino cave of Elba Island
Excellent experience with Flavio and his great preparation. In addition to the natural spectacle we enjoyed during the excursion, we really appreciated the guide's descriptions of the island's biological and natural history, as well as the events surrounding the iron mines. 3 stops swimming and snorkelling with masks on offer + snack and cold tea. Four pleasant and well-maintained hours.

The tour was very nice and the guide explains all the areas very well, we did the baths in some deserving spots, plus we also saw the dolphins . The only 'flaw' is that since they do not have a kitchen they only offer you cold rice (veg. suitable for everyone) which as lunch is a bit meagre ... they could supplement it with other cold dishes! All in all pleasant!

We were thoroughly satisfied with this experience, also thanks to the availability (and patience) of the guide Flavio, who told us about the island with passion and competence. Three stops to dive in the island's beautiful waters, one of which was in the suggestive Blue Grotto. We were 12 people, an ideal solution.

Value for money was excellent, the experience was great and enthusiastic on everyone's part. The first stage alone (the wreck) is worth the cost of the experience. A small piece of advice, bring goggles and/or mask with snorkel from home so that you are already well equipped.

A great experience, Captain Luciano is fantastic and tells you all about the island while sailing. Five bathroom stops at beautiful spots and lots of tips on itineraries and beaches to see during the holiday. 10 and praise!

To tell the truth, I was a little 'hesitant': in fact everything was above expectations. The boat, clean, comfortable and spacious; the crew prepared, conscientious and very accommodating! A wonderful experience!!!
