Full description

Discover ski touring with a half-day tour accompanied by a ski instructor.

Madonna di Campiglio and the Brenta Dolomites are an ideal setting for learning this discipline. The area includes unique itineraries of varying difficulty, from those suitable for expert skiers to the easier ones, perfect for those approaching ski mountaineering for the first time, the winter sport that combines ascent with descent, fun with effort, adrenalin with technique, speed with patience.

The proposed tour is designed for those who want to approach this discipline. You will learn how to descend in total safety, choose the best ascent and descent routes, and improve your technique together with a ski instructor.

Nothing like learning the basics of ski touring directly on the piste!

What we will do

The day will begin at 8.30 a.m., with the meeting set at the departure point of the Grostè cable car. From here we will board the cable car and set off on an itinerary to discover the Brenta Dolomites.

Once at altitude, we will follow the ups and downs that will take us around the summit to the east, from there we will reach Cima Roma (total active altitude difference 450m), a great classic of this stretch of the Dolomites and - above all - an enchanting landscape.

The descent is very similar, we will move along the route we have just taken, we will face a more intense initial section below the summit (but still well beaten) and then continue with gentler descents.

We will learn about safety equipment (Arva, probe and shovel) and how to check them both on our own and in a group, how to identify the safest tracks for the ascent and descent and any hazards to watch out for. This activity will enable you to learn the basics of ski mountaineering and is the first step towards more advanced downhill, cross-country and speed tours.

Back at the arrival of the gondola, we can either descend 1,000 metres on the slopes or return to the valley with the lift.

Who it is aimed at

Ski touring is permitted from the age of 15 for all persons with an average skiing technique on the piste, no previous ski touring experience is required.

Other information

The activity is bookable from December to March and is for private groups of 1 to 6 participants.

If necessary, it will be possible to hire ski equipment and safety kits from specialised shops in the resort.
