The thrill of a ski or snowboard descent, powered by the force of the wind: this is Snowkiting! Harness the energy released by the winds that whip through the Piedmontese Alps to move at speed across the snow.
Snowkiting is the modern winter discipline that moves traditional kite surfing from the waves of the sea to the ski slopes. Wielding a sail, you will dominate the air, making it your ally for a fun-filled experience.
In this one-day full-immersion course you'll learn the basics of kiting, how to move and how to direct yourself, and then try your hand at whizzing down the slope accompanied by a UIAGM Alpine Guide.
What we will do
The meeting is set in Susa, in the province of Turin. A few chats at the bar over a coffee and we set off by car to reach the spot where we will do the course (10 minutes by road): the Moncenisio pass.
The activity starts with a theoretical briefing of about an hour during which we will learn how a kite is made and what are the emergency manoeuvres . After the lesson we will move to the spot (about 20 minutes walk), where you can start piloting the kite for a first approach to Snowkiting.
As you gain the necessary familiarity and feel to be able to try skiing or snowboarding, we will carry out small controlled moves on the snow. This step-by-step method is designed to get beginners who are suited to the discipline to handle the kite over the course of a full day's activity, right up to the first flat moves.
For more advanced skiers, the progression will continue up to real free ride days.

The experience is suitable from the age of 14.
The activity is at an intermediate level and reserved for people who can ski or snowboard.

Attention! Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time of the activity.
The activity is bookable from December to May - depending on seasonal weather conditions - and is for mini-groups of 2 participants.
Specific snowkite equipment (sail and harness) will be provided by the mountain guide. It is necessary to bring your own board or skis.
