Climbing, trekking, ice climbing, ski mountaineering: regardless of the activity, what I like to convey is a passion for the outdoors. For me, these experiences are not a gym to perform in but an excuse to travel and explore new places; they are a means to experience real adventures.

Full description

Snowshoes are a tool known to Arctic peoples for centuries to move nimbly in the snow.

They prevent the wearer from sinking into fresh snow and make progression easier and less tiring. They were therefore used to move more easily across the vast snowy expanses of North America and Northern Europe.

Now, in the same territories, deafening snowmobiles are used, but snowshoes have remained a valid tool for traversing the mountains at home, enjoying the peace of nature and the beauty of the landscape at every single step.

In fact, the wintery appearance of the Dolomites in Trentino-Alto Adige is as evocative as one can imagine. Immersed in beautiful coniferous forests, we can walk slowly, savouring the peace and quiet that these places offer us.

If we walk carefully and silently, during our snowshoe hike in the Dolomites we may even spot some 'inhabitants' of the forest.

What we will do

The activity will take place in the magnificent natural setting of the Dolomites.

The difficulty of the excursion will be easy for beginners or moderate according to the technical abilities of the participants.

We will have the opportunity to stop for lunch in a typical mountain refuge to enjoy a hot meal.

The meeting with the guide will take place at the indicated meeting point in San Cassiano in Badia, in the province of Bolzano. After a quick briefing on how the day will be organised and the safety rules to be observed, we will move on to the starting point, from where our 4-hour snowshoe hike will begin, a route through wooded areas and snow-covered expanses, tackling an altitude difference of 300-400 metres (the route may vary depending on the participants' physical fitness).

Who it is aimed at

The activity is recommended for people in good general physical condition, even those without snowshoeing experience.
