Full description
Explore the Gran Paradiso National Park with an environmental guide and discover the secrets of one of Italy's most important nature reserves.
Snowshoes on your feet, you will walk on fresh snow and may encounter herds of ibex and chamois or spot other creatures of the forest. Meanwhile, your guide will entertain you with interesting stories and information about the surrounding environment.
Departing from Valsavarenche, you will walk along the path of King Victor Emmanuel II's hunting parties, passing through the ruins of ancient villages, constantly surrounded by natural landscapes of great beauty.
What we will do
The meeting with the guide is set for 10:00 a.m. at Pont in Valsavarenche (AO). Once the group is formed, snowshoes and poles (included in the participation fee) will be distributed. This will be followed by a briefing on the route and safety rules, and immediately afterwards we will set off on thesnowshoe hike.
The guide will lead us along theancient route of King Victor Emmanuel II'shunting parties, where we will encounter ibexes, chamois and other forest animals. The snowshoe hike will have a naturalistic focus as we will concentrate onobserving the flora and fauna and the surrounding landscapes.
It will be interesting to listen to the guide's tales, descriptions of nature, curiosities and anecdotes about the king's hunting habits. The route has a moderate altitude difference and is suitable for everyone , for a hike that is both peaceful and environmentally friendly.
In total, the activity will last about 4 hours and will end with the return to the starting point.

This activity is at an easy level and is suitable for everyone from 6 years old and up.
Other information
This activity can be carried out from December to March, depending on snow and weather conditions, and is confirmed once a minimum of six participants are reached. The location will be confirmed one or two days in advance, after checking the snow and weather conditions.
The excursion will be led by a specialised and exclusive Gran Paradiso National Park guide.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
