Full description
If your hiking spirit can't be quenched even in the middle of winter, this snowshoe hike in South Tyrol is for you!
Snowshoes on your feet and poles in hand, climb the fresh snow on the slopes of the Ahrntal Valley, starting from the picturesque hamlet of Rio Bianco and ending at the high alpine pastures, constantly accompanied by beautiful alpine scenery.
An excursion for those who love physical activity in the open air and cannot help but experience the mountains, especially in the season when they are the undisputed queen!
What we will do
We will meet the guide at 10:00 a.m. in Rio Bianco (BZ). Before setting off, we can break the ice with a 'little black', as espresso coffee is called in South Tyrol!
Then, having donned our snowshoes (which can be hired on site for €10), we will begin our high mountain trek. Three hours of ascent and 500 m of altitude difference will await us along the slopes of the Ahrntal Valley, for an experience that is certainly challenging but equally exciting and evocative.
Having conquered the alpine pastures and the magnificent views of the valley and surrounding peaks, we will remain for a while in contemplation of nature, just long enough to recover our energy, and then we will set off again for the descent.
The activity lasts 5 hours in total and ends with the return to the starting point.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is demanding and is aimed at hikers with good general fitness and resistance to ascents. Participation is possible from 14 years of age.
Other information
Attention! Please arrive at the meeting point approximately 15 minutes in advance.
This activity takes place every Friday from December to March/April, weather permitting.
Snowshoes are not included in the participation fee and can be hired on site for an extra €10.
Dogs are allowed, provided they are socialised.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
