Tandem hang gliding flight over Lake Como

Experience the extraordinary thrill of hang gliding in one of the most beautiful and evocative places in Italy, Lake Como. Take off from Mount Berlinghera and fly over the majestic mountains following the ascending wind currents. You will experience an incredible sensation of absolute lightness and freedom.

You will fly in Alto Lario, the northern region of Lake Como and the Pian di Spagna Nature Reserve, admiring from above expanses of water, woods and cultivated land, which draw geometric shapes of multiple colours on the plain.

Is this your first flying experience? Don't worry: you will be in tandem with a professional pilot registered with the Aero Club d'Italia, who will follow you through every phase of the flight, from take-off to landing.

What we will do

The meeting with the pilot is in Gera Lario, in the province of Como, about 20 minutes before the start time. We will be welcomed here by the driver with his alibus, who will take us on take-off to Mount Berlinghera, at an altitude of 1,200 metres.

Here there will be a comprehensive briefing on the activity, during which we will be given all the necessary notions to gain confidence and awareness during the flight. We will also have the opportunity to observe first-hand how all the equipment is painstakingly assembled.

Afterwards, we will put on theharness and take a simulated test under the instructor's supervision, to experience the feeling and posture of flying. Once we have verified that all safety conditions are in place, we will prepare to take off. All it takes is a short run with the instructor and we are airborne!

During the flight, which lasts about 20 minutes, we will fly over the lake and take advantage of the thermal currents, present especially after midday, to ascend and enjoy the spectacular view of Lake Como from a unique vantage point. The more courageous may ask the pilot to try a few aerobatics to complete the experience with the right adrenalin rush!

When landing, the hang glider will slowly touch down on the runway with its wheels. Finally, we will be taken back to the initial meeting point by the driver via alibus.

The activity lasts a total of about 2 hours.

Who it is aimed at

This activity is suitable for everyone over the age of 12. No specific skills or previous experience are required, just being in good physical condition and with a maximum height of 190 cm and a weight not exceeding 95 kg.

Minors under the age of 18 require the presence of at least one parent at the take-off and asigned authorisation. If the consent is not signed, the pilot will not allow participants to perform the activity, which will not be reimbursed.

Attention! Please arrive at least 20 minutes before the start of the activity.

The activity takes place all year round, subject to weather conditions and pilot availability.

Important: hang-gliding is highly subject to weather conditions. The day before the scheduled activity, the pilot will give you confirmation of the flight.

At the end of the experience, you can ask the pilot for a complimentary souvenir video.
