Full description
Wines that taste of Sardinia, as wild and authentic as the horses of the Giara.
Take part in a tasting experience at Cantina La Giara and discover how these wines are made: from the grape to the glass, amid sparkling tanks, fragrant barrels and local flavours that enhance every sip.
A 1.5-hour experience at the foot of the plateau, where tradition and innovation meet to give you a taste of Sardinia.
What we will do
We will meet at the selected time at Cantina La Giara in Usellus (OR), where our guide and sommelier Alice will welcome us.
We will start from the outside of the winery, taking a close look at the weighing machine and the machinery used for the first stages of grape processing. From there we will enter the beating heart of production, walking among the steel tanks and discovering how the wine comes to life through vinification techniques.
We will then visit the atmospheric barrique cellar, where the wine rests in wooden barrels to acquire character and depth, the analysis laboratory and thebottling plant to observe first-hand the care and attention given to each bottle.
We conclude our tour in the tasting room, where a selection of 4 to 7 wines awaits us, depending on the option chosen during the booking process:
- Tasting of 4 wines: Spumante, Vermentino, Cannonau and Bovale;
- Tasting of 6 wines: Spumante, Vermentino, Semidano, Rosato, Monica and Cannonau;
- Tasting of 7 wines: Spumante, Nuragus, Semidano, Monica, Carignano, Bovale and Passito.
Each glass will be accompanied by delicacies from the local tradition, carefully selected to enhance the flavours of the wines and recount the deep connection with the territory.
The experience lasts a total of about 1½ hours.
Who it is aimed at
The wine-tasting experience is reserved for participants over 18 years of age only. Minors or any adults not tasting wine may participate in the experience free of charge.
The experience is wheelchair accessible, with the exception of the tasting room on the first floor. It is possible to request to hold the tasting in the tasting room on the ground floor; please contact the organiser at the contact details you will receive by email with your booking confirmation.

The activity takes place all year round and is confirmed with a minimum of 2 participants.
