Giannutri Island day boat tour

Treat yourself to a day by boat discovering the small island of Giannutri. Climb aboard and sail along the Argentario coastline with its coves, blue sea and jagged rocks.

You will arrive in Giannutri after about 50 minutes of navigation and admire the island with its crystal-clear waters, herring gulls, dolphins swimming in the waves , and the archaeological site with the remains of a Roman villa.

The tour also includes lunch on board and several stops for swimming. The waters of the island will amaze you with their transparency and the seabed that hides some hundred-year-old shipwrecks. And thanks to the snorkelling kit you will be able to fully experience this fantastic corner of the sea.

The excursion also includes disembarking at Cala Spalmatoio or Cala Maestra, the only points equipped for mooring as the island of Giannutri has been declared a nature park.

What we will do

We will meet in Porto Santo Stefano (GR), where the boat will be waiting for us. Once all participants have boarded the boat, we will depart at 9:30 am. We will head towards the southernmost island of the Tuscan Archipelago, Giannutri.

We will sail along the beautiful Argentario coastline, with its coves, rocks emerging from the water smoothed by the waves and wind, and the crystal-clear sea between blue and green. In one of these beautiful coves we will stop for our first swim.

Afterwards, we will resume navigation as we approach the island of Giannutri, with its characteristic half-moon shape. Near the most beautiful coves, we will stop for another dip in the sea or, if we wish, for some snorkelling.

We will be able to admire the unspoilt nature of this islet, which is 11 kilometres long and just 500 metres wide. The island has a very special charm due to the colonies of herring gulls that choose it as their home, thetransparent water lapping against the coast and the scents of the Mediterranean maquis.

Around 13:00 we will stop for lunch (included) with cold pasta with tuna, tomato, mozzarella and basil or a rice salad with tuna or salmon. We will consume the meal on board while enjoying the view of the island.

If conditions permit, landing on the island will also be possible. The only mooring points are Cala Spalmatoio and Cala Maestra, because the whole of Giannutri has been declared a nature park. On the way, we can easily spot schools of dolphins playing and jumping in the waves.

Finally, we will return to the starting point at 17:30, after about 8 hours of touring.

Other information

The tour runs from May to October, subject to weather and sea conditions, and is confirmed with a minimum of 6 participants.

The itinerary is subject to change depending on weather and sea conditions.

The boats available are between 10 and 12 metres long and can take up to 14 participants. All boats are modern and comfortable and are equipped with a cabin, WC, sunbathing area and a seating area in the shade.

Dogs are not allowed on board.
