Full description
Come and discover the hills around Florence and its beautiful views on a trekking tour along one of the most beautiful paths in Fiesole.
You will walk along the stonemasons' paths between Fiesole and Settignano to discover ancient paths built by the Etruscans and Romans and used to this day. You will visit the square where the first man took flight thanks to Leonardo da Vinci's inventions, enjoying the view from the summit of Monte Ceceri.
Accompanied by an AIGAE-certified environmental guide with over 10 years' experience, you will pass through olive groves, pietra serena quarries and ancient paths discovering magnificent places.
What we will do
We will meet in the Piazza Centrale of Fiesole, where the group of 2 to 10 people will meet with the guide.
From here we will begin the walk along the CAI (Club Alpino Italiano) path and enjoy the view from one of the most beautiful streets in Fiesole before entering the Monte Ceceri Nature Reserve.
During the short and easy ascent to the summit of the mountain, we will stop to enjoy the wonderful panorama and see some pietra serena quarries, which have been used since ancient times.
Once at the summit, we will continue along the Via degli Dei, circumnavigating the Florentine plain, crossing fields of olive trees and woods of cypresses, farnias and turkey oaks. We descend towards Settignano and take a diversion back to Fiesole and the small village of Maiano. From here we ascend Monte Ceceri to return to our starting point.
The route is about 12 km for a total of 5 hours (including lunch break).
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone over the age of 9. Children under the age of 9 can participate as long as they are aware of the physical exertion and are the sole responsibility of their parents.
No technical skills are needed to participate and, apart from a few rocky spots, it is an easy route. However, it is not suitable for those with heart problems, dizziness, walking, joint or back problems, pregnant women or the disabled.
Other information
Theitinerary may vary: the guide may take alternative or shorter routes to suit the weather and the group. In case of unusable trails, alternative routes will be taken in order to offer the best possible experience.
Animals are allowed.
The activity may only be cancelled in the event of an orange weather alert or above.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
