Full description
Learn to drive a sailboat and experience an unparalleled feeling of freedom as you sail the open sea off the Ligurian Riviera.
Departing from Savona, you will spend two days in the Gulf of Tigullio or on the Riviera di Ponente and learn the basic techniques of sailing together with an experienced skipper.
Step by step you will become increasingly familiar with the boat and learn to know the wind better and better. Get ready for a mini-cruise in which you will be the captain!
What we will do
We will meet at 9:00 am at the port of Savona and first hold an introductory briefing on the activities of the two days. Then we will arm the boat and start sailing towards the Gulf of Tigullio or , alternatively, towards Alassio and the Riviera di Ponente.
During the two-day course, we will focus on acquiring the basic techniques for sailing, with the aim of learning all the manoeuvres needed to be able to steer the boat independently on a medium-short route.
We will learn how to use the GPS for navigation, how to adjust the sails according to the wind, how to moor and manoeuvre in and out of ports, and how to handle emergency situations.
Towards sunset we will dock in port and can spend the evening relaxing on board the boat or in town (the possibility of sleeping on board will depend on the anti-Covid regulations in force at the time).
The next morning we will resume sailing for a new day of sailing lessons, with the aim not only of learning as much as possible but also of enjoying the beautiful sea of the Ligurian Riviera.
The activity ends in the late afternoon on Sunday, with the return to the port of Savona.

This activity is at an easy level and is open to children aged 8 years and up, accompanied by an adult.

This activity can be carried out all year round, weather permitting, and is confirmed upon reaching a minimum of 3 participants.
12-metre sailing cabin cruisers will be used for the course.
The possibility of sleeping on board the boat does not entail additional costs and will be agreed upon after booking, according to the anti-Covid regulations in force at the time of the activity. Alternatively, it is always possible to spend the night ashore (costs to be borne by participants).

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
