Full description
If you want to discover the secrets of La Serenissima, this 4-hour boat tour in beautiful Venice is for you!
You will sail along the most characteristic canals of the Venetian lagoon and admire the city from St Mark's Basin. Then you will see the magnificent Venice Arsenal and visit the beautiful islands of Murano and Burano, where local craftsmen will introduce you to their art.
Finally, you will have a toast to end the experience on a high note!
What we will do
We will meet at the meeting point in Venice, where our skipper will be waiting for us. After an initial welcome, we will board the boat, a vintage wooden boat, and begin the experience.
We will sail to the Mulino Stucky, a historic building dating back to the late 1800s and now a hotel. We will then take the Giudecca Canal and cross the Venetian lagoon to St Mark's Basin, the space in front of the magnificent square of the same name.
Afterwards, we will pass through the Castello district and reach theArsenale, the shipyard complex that was the heart of the Serenissima's naval industry and arms production from the 12th century onwards. Today, part of the structure is used by the Venice Biennale for contemporary art exhibitions.
Resuming navigation, we will head to Murano, where we will stop for about 30 minutes to visit a glassworks and discover the secrets of glassmaking thanks to the explanations of a glassmaker. Then it will be the turn of Burano, which we will reach via the canals of Torcello. We will stop for a visit of about 45 minutes at a lace factory, learn a few curiosities from a local craftsman and stroll through the streets of the island, which are home to many colourful houses.
Finally, we will return to our starting point via a stretch of the lagoon protected by the WWF due to the presence of flamingos, which, if we are lucky, we will be able to spot! During the return trip, we will also be able to toast to the good experience with a glass of prosecco (included) offered to us by the skipper.
The tour, including stops, lasts a total of 4 hours.
