Beautiful panoramic walk at Lake Arpy!

Actually, on the guide's advice, we opted for a more scenic walk than the Val Ferret tour and started from Monte San Carlo to the frozen lake of Arpy. The first part took place in the woods and our super-guide Pierpaolo told us many anecdotes and curiosities about nature and the woods that greatly enriched a simple walk in the snow. The second part took place on the cross-country with a breathtaking view of Mont Blanc. The day was beautiful and despite the scarce snowfall this year, the landscape was really beautiful! We were a large group and not all sporty, so we were a bit apprehensive about the level of the hike, which actually turned out to be easy and not too challenging, as much as the guide had told us. It gave us the chance to enjoy the mountains outdoors for a while and still have the energy to enjoy the afternoon and soiree in Courmayeur. At the end of the route, at the La Genzianella hotel, we had delicious typical polenta in all sauces and mouth-watering home-made desserts. Modest cost. Special thanks to our guide Pierpaolo for making this excursion so interesting and enjoyable at the same time!

Sensational!

We went snowshoeing. Pierpaolo made sure to contact us the day before to remind us of the time and the meeting point. We called him because we were having trouble finding a taxi to get to the point and he was really incredible: he was passing by our hotel and he picked us up. Snowshoeing is something unique, indescribable. It makes you become one with nature, the birds and the sky. During the stops along the way, Pierpaolo indulged in short, pleasant reflections on nature and anthropology, and also on fondue production 😋 Once up there...well, the view leaves you speechless. Pierpaolo is excellence and the place... you have to visit it!

The first snowshoe hike

It was the first time with snowshoes. Mauro (the guide) with a few 'tips' explained to us how to use snowshoes in the correct way according to the characteristics of the route, uphill, downhill, flat,... And then off to the Valnontey forest. Nice route, about 7km, and with encounters with chamois on the nature of which Mauro shared his knowledge. The beautiful sun crowned this experience, which I would recommend to anyone wanting to be in the mountains in a different way with snow. Danilo.

Beautiful experience

For us it was our first snowshoe hike and we were really excited about the experience. Breathtaking scenery and Pier Paolo was an excellent guide. Advice: if the experience is on a Sunday, leave a little early from the Aosta cable car to go up to Pila. Cost of the gondola is 8 euro each way, journey time about 18-20 min. Once in Pila, walk down the stairs to the right and you will find the meeting point (near the toilet, opposite a large car park). You will not regret it!

Great Pier Paolo

Beautiful day snowshoeing. The guide, Pier Paolo Pedraza, who is very attentive to the routes, modified the route, allowing us to spend happy hours in Val Ferret. Modification caused by the low amount of snow towards Lac d'Arpy. Perfect communication and organisation. Pleasant outing full of tales and notions. Really a great discovery, absolutely to be recommended and repeated. Absolute relaxation and movement in the midst of forests and immaculate snow cover. Thank you!

Good experience... not for children!

A beautiful experience surrounded by white snow and nature! Really beautiful places that you can only reach with snowshoes in winter.nThe only notes ... It is NOT a hike for children (a couple of points very challenging) and the guide, although friendly and prepared, not too attentive to the whole group, if you stayed behind did not wait for everyone and did not help those in difficulty in the most difficult points. Were it not for this it would certainly be 5 stars!
