Ladies and gentlemen, here is the queen of excursions!
With this 1.5-hour quad bike tour, you will set off to discover one of the world's most impressive volcanoes: MountEtna.
Let a nature guide lead you along a 20 km route and discover the nature that characterises the area. Then stop to visit a lava flow cave and end on a high note with a tasty aperitif!
What we will do
We will meet at the meeting point in Nicolosi (CT), where our nature guide will be waiting for us. After an initial welcome, we will have a briefing of about 10 minutes to learn how to drive the vehicle.
Then we will begin our adventure on Mount Etna, starting at an altitude of 2,000 metres and heading towards the western slope. We will cross an eruptive fracture, passing through lava fields and black sand until we reach a lava flow cave. Here we will make a 15-minute stop to visit it on foot and enjoy a wonderful panorama.
Once we leave, we will head towards a lava stone construction typical of the area and called U Pagghiaru. After taking a few moments to admire it, we will pass it and enter a gorse forest, then proceed through lava flow channels, dagales and moonscapes. The latter, in particular, get their name from their resemblance to the lunar surface!
We will end the route at the starting point, passing through a pine forest and along thebed of a drystream. The route will be 20 km and will alternate between 50% asphalt and 50% gravel. Back at the base, we will find a tasty aperitif (included), which will include a cocktail of your choice and a platter of cold meats and cheeses.
The activity, excluding the aperitif, will last a total of 1.5 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for ages 5 and up. To ride the quad bike, you must be at least 18 years old and have a B licence or a foreign equivalent.
The activity is not suitable for pregnant women.
Other information
The activity is available from May to September.
Each quad bike can carry a maximum of 2 participants (1 driver and 1 passenger). Halfway through, it will be possible to swap places, provided the driver is 18 years old and has a driving licence.
An aperitif will be served at the end of the experience. In the event of allergies or intolerances, an alternative can be requested in advance via the contact details in the booking confirmation e-mail.
The meeting point can be reached by public transport and there is ample parking availability nearby.
Small dogs are allowed. To report their presence, please contact the activity organisers in advance via the contacts you will receive in your booking confirmation e-mail.
