Ladies and gentlemen, make way for the king of wines: Barolo!
To discover all its secrets, simply participate in this unmissable wine tasting at thePodere Gagliassi winery in the province of Cuneo.
You will immerse yourself in the magnificent scenery of the Langhe, take a walk in the vineyard and visit the cellar where production takes place. Then you will taste 3 glasses of Barolo together with a sommelier who will explain the qualities of each wine to give you a unique experience!
What we will do
We will meet at the meeting point in Monforte d'Alba (CN), where we will be welcomed by the guide who, as the Podere Gagliassi's expert sommelier, will accompany us through the experience.
We will spend about 30 minutes walking through the rows of vineyards that surround the estate and extend over 19 hectares. In the meantime, we will discover the history of the company and the territory while enjoying the magnificent panorama of the Langhe.
Afterwards, we will move on to the winery where the production of the wines takes place. The guide will explain the processes that allow the grapes to be transformed into a bottle of wine and we will learn some interesting facts about processes such as pressing and fermentation. We will also visit the barrique cellar and see the barrels in which the wine rests.
After about 30 minutes, we will reach the room where the wine tasting will take place, which is located right in front of a Barbera vineyard and from which you can see a very impressive landscape. Thetasting will includethree glasses of Barolo, characteristic of the area and counted among the most appreciated wines of Piedmont and Italy. The wines we will taste will be from different vintages and the explanations provided by the sommelier will allow us to grasp all their nuances.
Some of the wines we will be able to taste (depending on availability) are:
- Barolo 2018 DOCG
- Barolo 2019 DOCG
- Barolo Badarina 2020 DOCG
Finally, if we wish, we can visit the shop and buy our favourite products from the winery! The experience will last 1½ hours in total.
Who it is aimed at
A minimum age of 18 is required to participate in the tasting. Minors (and any abstemious persons) may attend free of charge. You can indicate their presence to the organisers via the 'accompanying persons' option in the booking box. Non-alcoholic options are not available.
With the exception of the visit to the vineyard, the activity is accessible to persons in wheelchairs or with reduced mobility.

The activity is available all year round, from Wednesday to Sunday, and will be confirmed upon reaching a minimum of 2 participants.
The wines offered during the tasting may vary depending on availability.
The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport. However, free parking is available at the venue.
