3-hour boat tour to the island of Poveglia

This is the story of the most mysterious island in the Venetian lagoon.

What we will do

We will meet at the meeting point in Venice, where our skipper will be waiting for us. After an initial welcome, we will board the boat and start the tour!

We will sail slowly, passing behind the island of Giudecca, which is located in the southernmost part of the Venetian lagoon. We will enter several canals and immerse ourselves in a very impressive natural setting, until we reach the island of Santa Maria delle Grazie, which we will admire from the boat.

Then we will stop at theisland of San Clemente and theisland of Santo Spirito, before passing through the sandbanks to reach theisland of Poveglia, famous for having been used as a lazaret at the end of the 1700s, when the plague struck Venice. Since then, it has been shrouded in mystery and is said to be inhabited by ghosts.

We will sail along Poveglia with the boat and listen to the skipper telling us the history of this and the other islands.

After a last look at the ghost island, we will return to the starting point. The activity will last approximately 3 hours in total.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is suitable from the age of 3. Unaccompanied minors under the age of 18 may participate subject to signing a waiver by a responsible adult.

The boat is accessible to people in wheelchairs or with reduced mobility. To report your presence, please contact the organisers in advance at the contact details on your booking confirmation email.

Other information

The activity is available from February to September and will be confirmed upon reaching a minimum of 4 participants. During the evening hours, the islands will be illuminated by lights that will create a very impressive scenery.

The boat on which the experience will take place is a 9 m long and 2.5 m wide launch, equipped with a sunroof and with a maximum capacity of 7 people. It is also equipped with a stereo system, refrigerator, shower and sun canopy.

The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport, and parking spaces are available in the area for a fee.

Dogs are not allowed on board.
