Full description
Would you like to discover the truest and most genuine Sardinia? Immerse yourself in the traditions of this region rich in charm and history with a guided 4x4 tour to discover Orgosolo, a museum town in the Supramonte, renowned for its priceless historical heritage.
On board our off-road vehicle you will discover ancient necropolises, wild forests and places rich in culture. You will be amazed by the historic murals of Orgosolo and the limestone heels of the nearby mountains. You will also have the chance to have lunch in an ancient sheepfold, in the company of a shepherd. Ride with us!
What we will do
We will meet at 8.30 a.m. in Orosei. After forming the group and boarding the 4x4 vehicles, we will set off for Orgosolo.
The first stop will be at the necropolis of Madau, where we can admire the famous Tombs of the Giants. We will then head into the heights of Orgosolo to discover the forest of Montes. Here, once we have parked the off-road vehicle, we will take a short walk to the summit of Monte Novo S. Giovanni, at an altitude of 1316 m, from where we will enjoy a unique panorama.
For lunch, we will stop at an old traditional sheepfold, "Su Pinnettu" in the Sardinian language, surrounded by a forest of thousand-year-old holm oaks. Here we will taste the products born from the hands of the shepherd and his family, including pecorino cheese, smoked ricotta, traditional cold cuts such as bacon and sausage, boiled sheep and roast suckling pig, all accompanied by the famous Cannonau wine. We will end the meal with homemade myrtle and 'Filu 'e Ferru', the Sardinian brandy.
We will then proceed to discover the famous murales, 300 wall paintings that characterise the facades of Orgosolo's houses, so much so that it has become an internationally renowned museum town.
Once our tour is over, we will return by off-road vehicle to the meeting point. The total duration of the activity will be 8 ½ hours.

The activity can be booked all year round and is confirmed when a minimum number of 6 participants is reached.
There are 2 off-road vehicles available, each of which can carry 8 people in addition to the driver. Child seats are also available (to request these, call the guide at the contact details you will receive by email with your booking confirmation).
Upon request, during the tour it will also be possible to visit the Casa Museo Tramas de Seda in Orgosolo, dedicated to silkworm processing, and to participate in a craft workshop. For more information, please contact the organiser at the contact details received with the booking confirmation.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
