Full description
Mussels, molecules and oysters. Discover the delicacies of the lagoon!
You can do so by taking part in our boat tour to discover aquaculture in Chioggia: in the company of a local captain, you will sail among fish farms and learn about traditional techniques handed down through generations.
An experience of over 1 hour, to discover the area in (and with) all the senses!
What we will do
The appointment is 10 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Chioggia (VE). We will be welcomed by the captain who will accompany us on this adventure!
We will board atypical Venetian boat: the captain will not fail to tell us why he chose to let us experience a lagoon boat, which will allow us to reach areas normally closed to tourism and to immerse ourselves in the culture of the area.
We will then begin our navigation in the Chioggia lagoon to discover characteristic aquaculture, i.e. the traditional and sustainable production of fish. We will approach picturesque mussel, molecule and oyster farms: the captain will describe the production techniques handed down through generations and, if we are lucky, we may even spot some fishermen at work!
We will finally return to the meeting point; the captain will be able to recommend the best restaurants in the city where we can taste these delicacies of the lagoon. The experience will last 1½ hours in total.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for everyone without age limits. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Children aged 0 to 3 years participate free of charge: contact the captain at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email to indicate their presence on board.
The boat is not accessible to people with mobility problems.
Other information
The experience takes place from March to November.
Theboat is a typical Venetian boat 6.70 metres long and equipped with an awning. Dogs are allowed on board.
Themeeting point must necessarily be reached on foot. There is a pay car park near the meeting point.
