Full description
You know the cartoon Doraemon? The blue cat who flew thanks to his propeller hat?
Well, it looks just like an autogyro and you will discover it during your flight baptism: for the occasion you will be able to try to command this particular aircraft in the company of an instructor, flying over the Ticino river and the Certosa di Pavia.
Anexperience of over 45 minutes, with your head in the clouds!
What we will do
The appointment is 15 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Albairate (MI). You will be welcomed by theinstructor who will accompany you on your first autogyro flight!
The experience will begin with anintroduction on the ground lasting about 15 minutes, during which the instructor will explain how the gyrocopter works and the manoeuvres you will perform in flight. You will then board the aircraft to familiarise yourself with the control stick and then sit in your seat.
Get ready for take-off! During the flight, the instructor will give you further instructions on how to perform the manoeuvres and, once you have reached the right altitude, you can try to fly the gyrocopter for about 5 minutes. For the remaining time on board you will enjoy the panoramic view of the Ticino river and the Certosa di Pavia, where you can take photos and videos from a unique perspective! At the end of the 45-minute flight, it will be time to land.
The experience will last a total of 1 hour, at the end of which you will receive your 'Pilot for a day' diploma!
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for ages 16 and over; children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult on site or have signed authorisation.
Amaximum height of 2 m and a maximum weight of 120 kg are required to participate in the activity.
The experience is not suitable for persons with motor disabilities or reduced mobility.
Other information
Caution! The autogyro flying experience is strictly weather-dependent. No flying in rain and at the instructor's discretion.
The activity takes place from April to October.
There is free parking on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.
When booking, you can choose to practice the activity on one of the following types of aircraft
- "open gyro M16", aircraft with tandem position (flight instructor and participant are seated one behind the other)
- "closed gyro M24", aircraft with side-by-side position (flight instructor and participant are seated next to each other)
The experience is individual: there is 1 flight instructor and 1 participant on board the aircraft. It is possible to request the simultaneous flight option (2 flight instructors with 2 participants on board 2 aircraft) by making a reservation for 2 persons.
Any accompanying persons can wait in the clubhouse on the airfield with a refreshment area. Leashed dogs are allowed in the airfield clubhouse.
