Have you ever watched a barn owl from just a few centimetres away? In Livigno, you can meet Nyra and enjoy an experience that will introduce you to the magic of falconry!
Accompanied by a mountain guide, you’ll immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Alpe Vago, where you can let this magnificent bird of prey fly from your glove and capture the experience with some splendid souvenir photos.
What we will do
We’ll meet at the meeting point in Livigno. We’ll be welcomed by the mountain guide and his inseparable barn owl, Nyra.
We’ll start with a walk of about 10 minutes to reach a peaceful natural area on Alpe Vago, away from the busier trails.
Here, we’ll put on the falconer’s glove and, one at a time, experience the thrill of having Nyra land on our arm. We’ll also be able to offer her some food, observe her up close and discover the characteristics of this fascinating bird of prey, whilst ensuring her wellbeing is fully respected at all times.
There will then be time to take photographs with Nyra and take home a special memento of the experience.
At the end, you’ll be free to continue the day at your own pace, perhaps stopping at the nearby mountain hut for lunch or an aperitif, or exploring the local trails.
The activity will last a total of 1 hour.
Who it is aimed at
This experience is suitable for children aged 5 and over. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Children under 5 may attend as accompanying adults but cannot take part in the activity.
This experience is not accessible to people with mobility issues. On request, the organisers may consider making any necessary adjustments: please contact them using the contact details provided in your booking confirmation email.
Other information
The experience takes place from July to October and is confirmed once a minimum of four participants has been reached.
The activity will take place only in favourable weather and wind conditions, and always with the barn owl’s welfare in mind.
Dogs are not permitted during the experience.
Free parking is available on site. The meeting point can also be reached by public transport.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
