Have you ever seen the result of avolcanic eruption under the sea? Well, this is one of the few places in Italy where you can do it... with mask, wetsuit and tanks!
During this baptism of the sea, you will dive for 30 minutes with a diving instructor along the Timpa di Acireale, where the lava has sculpted black walls and spectacular seabeds, almost as if they were sets for a film set on another planet.
Only here you will be in Sicily, and instead of aliens you will find colourful fish and aquatic plants!
What we will do
The appointment is at the selected time at the meeting point in Acireale (CT). Waiting for us will be the diving centreinstructor, ready to guide us in our first diving experience.
After introductions, we will begin with a 20-30 minute briefing: the basic principles of diving, safety rules, and the use of equipment will be explained to us.
We will put on our wetsuits and full equipment and, once we are ready, we will descend into the water directly from the shore via a convenient ladder cut into the lava rock. The dive will take place in a dedicated and very quiet area, perfect for those who are new to diving!
For about 30 minutes we will explore the volcanic seabed, where light refracts through the rocks creating truly impressive effects. We will be able to observe very varied marine flora and fauna down to a depth of 5 metres, surrounded by dark reefs that tell the story of Etna. All this, of course, at the constant side of the instructor!
Once back on the surface, a short 10-minute debriefing will await us, during which we will be able to share the emotions experienced and receive initial feedback from the instructor.
The experience will last about 1½ hours in total.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for ages 14 and up. Minors must be accompanied by an adult or have a signed release form.
To participate in the activity, you must be able to swim and have no respiratory, cardiovascular or ear/nose diseases. On arrival, you will be asked to complete a medical history form.
The activity is suitable for first-time divers and no licence is required to participate.
Other information
The experience is available all year round.
If you have purchased the 'dive + photo and video' package , you will receive these within 3 days of the activity.
The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport, but free parking is available on site.
Showers and toilets are available at the diving centre hotel. It is recommended that you arrive with your swimming costume already on and bring a beach towel.
Companionscan wait comfortably at the meeting point and use the hotel's beach service, with access independent of the activity.
It is not recommended to dive in the 24 hours preceding a flight.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
