Have you ever breathed underwater? Now is the time to give it a try.
With a sea baptism in Marina di Gioiosa Ionica, you will dive for 30 minutes in the Ionian Sea of Calabria with a certified SSI instructor. You will also discover the basics of diving during a theory lesson and the secrets of a sea that even hosts colonies of seahorses, a fragile but tenacious symbol of these waters.
No licence required, just curiosity and a desire to be amazed!
What we will do
The appointment is at the selected time at the diving centre in Marina di Gioiosa Ionica (RC). We will be welcomed by thediving instructor who will accompany us on this first dive!
Once all the participants have gathered, we will attend a theoretical lesson lasting about 1 hour to discover equipment, signs and basic rules of diving. We will also focus on the species that inhabit the marine environment in which we are going to dive, with a special emphasis on seahorses, a symbolic species of the Ionian Sea area.
We will then begin dressing with all the equipment, ready to enter the water directly from the shore, in the stretch of sea in front of the diving centre, for a gradual approach to the underwater world!
Thedive will take place in small groups (maximum 2 participants per instructor), to a depth of 5 metres, according to SSI standards. We will remain underwater for about 30 minutes.
At the end of the dive, we will conclude the day by taking photos and video souvenirs of our underwater adventure. The experience will last about 4 hours in total.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for ages 8 and up; children under the age of 18 must have a signed release form.
It is not necessary to know how to swim to participate in the activity, but good aquatic skills are recommended.
The activity is suitable for first-time divers and no licence is required to participate.
Other information
The experience takes place all year round subject to weather and sea conditions.
There is free parking on site. The meeting point can be reached by public transport.
There are changing rooms with showers and toilets at the diving centre.
Any accompanying persons can wait on the beach adjacent to the diving centre.
It is not recommended to dive 24 hours before a flight.
