Have you ever imagined what the world is like underwater?
With a sea baptism in Otranto you can discover it with your own eyes, in the company of a diving instructor. A dive among the Salento seabed, at a maximum depth of 5 metres, will let you discover typical Mediterranean flora and fauna.
No need for a licence, just a desire to breathe underwater and marvel!
What we will do
The appointment is at 14:30 at the meeting point in Otranto (LE). Awaiting us will be thediving instructor, who will accompany us throughout the entire experience.
We will begin with a briefing on land, in an equipped area where we will be provided with all theequipment and the basic rules of diving will be explained to us.
Once the preparation is over, we will walk to the embarkation point (about 100 metres away) and board a 7.40 m or 10 m motorised dinghy , depending on availability.
We will then set sail for one of the most attractive dive sites in the area, such as the Taglio delle Orte or another area protected from currents, perfect for taking our first steps (or rather, fins!) into the blue.
The dive will last about 40 minutes, at a maximum depth of 5 metres, and will be conducted in small groups: maximum 2 participants per instructor. We will swim among posidonia meadows, submerged rocks and schools of fish, observing the flora and fauna of the Mediterranean up close.
At the end of the dive we will return by dinghy to the starting point.
The whole experience will last approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes. At the end of the activity we will also receive an official Try Scuba Diving SSI award.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable from the age of 8; children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult on the raft.
A medical certificate is required in the event of pulmonary problems, heart problems, epilepsy and diabetes.
The activity is suitable for first-time divers and no licence is required to participate.
Other information
The experience takes place from May to October.
The activity can be carried out on board a 7.40 m dinghy powered by a Mercury 200 hp motor or a 10 m dinghy with two Mercury 200 hp motors, depending on availability.
There is free parking on site. The meeting point can be reached by public transport.
There are changing rooms and lockers at the diving centre for storing personal items.
It is not recommended to dive 24 hours before a flight.
