Full description
There are those who dive to see fish. And then there's you, getting ready for a plunge into the past (literally) among the remains of patrician villas and ancient thermal structures, in one of the most evocative seabeds in the Mediterranean.
We are talking about the Underwater Archaeological Park of Baia, in the Campi Flegrei, where history is not read: it is explored with mask and scuba tanks. During this experience you will experience a truly unusual sea baptism, in the company of an instructor, at a maximum depth of 4 and a half metres.
And if one dive is not enough for you, you can choose the option with 2 dives to enjoy an encore of wonder!
What we will do
The appointment is 1 hour before the selected time at the meeting point in Bacoli (NA). This will allow us to respect the restricted access to the Submerged Archaeological Park of Baia.
Once we arrive, we will meet the diving instructors who will accompany us on this adventure. We will begin with a briefing on land under the diving centre gazebo: we will spend about 30 minutes talking about safety rules, compensation, use ofequipment, and finding out more about the incredible history of the underwater site we are about to explore.
Afterwards, we will board a 10-metre rubber dinghy in the direction of the Underwater Park. The navigation will last a few minutes, just long enough for a second part of the briefing on board, and then: down into the water directly from the dinghy!
We will dive at one of the park's accessible sites, such as the Terme del Lacus, the Villa a Protiro or the Submerged Nymphaeum: ancient Roman ruins lying on the seabed, visible even just a few metres from the surface. Each dive will last about 30 minutes, and we will move to a maximum depth of 4.5 metres, accompanied individually or in pairs by an instructor.
If we choose the"double dive" option, we will return on board for a short break, after which we will move to a different area of the site for the second dive in the same way.
We will finally return to the meeting point. The total duration of the activity will be approximately 2½ hours.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for 12 years and over. Children under the age of 18 may participate by presenting a signed authorisation from an adult.
The activity is suitable for first-time divers and no licence is required to participate.
A medical certificate is required in case of pulmonary problems, heart problems, epilepsy and diabetes.
Other information
The experience is available all year round, every day except Mondays.
The meeting point is easily accessible by public transport. Free and/or paid parking is available on site.
Theboat used for the transfer is a 33-foot Pirahna dinghy, powered by two 200 hp Suzuki four-strokes, approved for 34 persons, double ladder.
The diving centre has changing rooms with hot showers, toilets and lockers for personal belongings.
Any accompanying persons may wait near the meeting point.
Remember: it is not recommended to dive within 24 hours before a flight.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
