Private introductory kitesurfing lesson in Ostia

If you love board sports and can't help but feel the adrenaline rush, don't miss the chance to try kitesurfing with a 2-hour introductory lesson on the beaches of Ostia.

You'll have a qualified instructor all to yourself and with his help you'll learn the basic techniques of kiteboarding to whizz over the waves pulled by the wind.

Thrills, fun and a sense of freedom are the essential ingredients of this aquatic discipline: all you have to do is hold the kite bar for the first time to feel them all!

What we will do

The activity begins with a welcome at the kitesurfing school on the Vespucci promenade in Ostia (RM). You will meet your instructor and be provided with all the necessarytechnical equipment . After that, you will go to the beach to begin your lesson.

The introductory kitesurfing lesson will teach you the basics of the discipline, namely controlling the kite without a board. In fact, manoeuvring this equipment is not as simple as flying a kite and deserves proper attention. First, the instructor will give you some wind knowledge, teach you how to prepare your equipment and explain how to handle the kite in flight. All you have to do is listen and practice a lot.

You will start with small kites with little pull. When you have mastered the correct movements and position, you will move on to larger kites and more advanced techniques. After a short time you will be surprised to be able to handle these kites fully independently, without the support of the instructor.

At that point you will be ready to enter the water and become familiar with the board. You will begin to feel the force of the wind inflating the kite's sails and, always under the watchful eye of the instructor, you will try to put your feet up on the board and set off on your first glide!

The introductory kitesurfing lesson lasts 2 hours and can be done individually or in pairs.

Who it is aimed at

This activity is at an easy level and is open to everyone from the age of 9. No experience is required, but you must be able to swim or at least have good aquatic skills.

Other information

This activity can be booked from March to November, and is dependent on weather and wind conditions.

The lesson is private and can be done alone or in pairs. If you already have a good gliding technique, you can opt for an advanced lesson.

The participation fee includes full equipment rental and the use of showers and changing rooms. At the end of the lesson, the instructor will give you all the information you need to continue learning the discipline.
