Beyond the lifts, beyond the groomed slopes, away from the noise... back to the origin of skiing.
Do you already know how to ski and have you always been intrigued by the idea of trying ski touring? Then this experience is for you!
We propose an excursion aimed at those who want to get closer to ski-mountaineering with an ascent of around 2 hours to reach the Monte Ferro refuge at Sappada accompanied by an expert Alpine Guide, concluding the experience with a nice dinner (included in the price).
In search of the best snow, we will follow an itinerary through the UNESCO heritage mountains, a form of spiritual and physical wellness in a natural environment of absolute beauty.
What we will do
A few hours of ski mountaineering for those who want to approach this discipline gradually and with awareness. Ascent and descent technique, use of Artva, shovel and probe, evaluation of the snowpack will be the main topics.
The activity is organised every Tuesday and starts at around 17:00, the meeting point is the Regina Pacis Sanctuary in Borgata Soravia (Sappada). The ascent to the Monte Ferro Refuge will take about 2 hours. We will have dinner and then ski down in the dark equipped with a head torch. It will be an unforgettable experience!
The Monte Ferro Ref uge in Sappada is located in a pleasant position just above the arrival station of the disused chairlift, overlooked by the buttresses and the rocky wall of the mountain of the same name, and right in front of the entire beautiful sequence of peaks that from the Terza Piccola reaches the Cimon via the Clap, the Siera and the Creta Forata.
This is a proposal reserved for those who love wide, sunny spaces. It is a little-used itinerary, a little tiring only on the slope that precedes the refuge. In all, the activity lasts 4 to 5 hours.

This activity is of an easy level. Good physical condition and a good command of skis are required.

Important: it is necessary to arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes before the time chosen for the activity.
The activity is bookable every Tuesday from January to April.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
