Full description
Set off on a fascinating 4-hour electric MTB excursion to Valle Giumentina, a place of high archaeological value in the Majella Park, amid ancient dry stone buildings, wildlife and beautiful scenery.
Accompanied by an FCI cycling guide, you'll enjoy riding along white roads and nature trails until you reach the Tholos Village.
What we will do
The meeting point is near San Valentino in Abruzzo Citeriore (PE). Here we will meet the guide and, after completing the e-bike rental contract (included in the participation fee), we will be handed our bikes and helmets (mandatory).
After a 10-minute briefing, we will set off on our e-bike excursion in Valle Giumentina. We will ride along a stretch of asphalt road leading to one of the entrances to the valley and reach the Palaeolithic ecomuseum 'Villaggio Tholos'. This is unique in that it is built completely in the open air, surrounded by nature. Each Tholos contains a different exhibition (archaeological finds, ancient farming tools, local flora and fauna...).
There is also a kiosk/bar, with picnic tables, where we will have a snack with typical local products (included in the fee). We will also be able to choose a drink or coffee at the kiosk.
The stop will be about 30-40 minutes and then we will return to the meeting point via different routes. If the ability of the group allows it, there will be exciting e-bike descents.
The route is approximately 25 km long and starts at an altitude of around 450 m and finishes at around 850 m. The general level of difficulty is medium-low, with only a few more technical sections.
The excursion lasts about 4 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone. Only a fair degree of cycling ability is required, with a minimum of experience on dirt roads. Any medical conditions must be reported to the guide immediately after booking in order to assess suitability.
The minimum age for participation is 12 years and the minimum height is 150 cm.
Persons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by at least one parent.

Attention! Please arrive at least 15 minutes in advance.
The activity takes place from March to October, subject to weather conditions and guide availability. It is possible to do the excursion in the morning or in the afternoon. Contact the guide the day before the activity to confirm themeeting time.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
