Full description
Discover Vesuvius on a bike with a guided half-day tour, departing from Naples.
You will cycle along a nature itinerary of approximately 10 km until you reach the Gran Cono, at an altitude of 1,000 metres. You will be able to explore the Vesuvius National Park in the company of a certified guide and discover how nature has managed to carve the lava stone into sculptures.
Once at your destination, you can stop to capture the Bay of Naples from above and appreciate all its charm before embarking on an exciting descent. So, ready to get in the saddle?
What we will do
We will rendezvous with the guide around 10.00 a.m. in Naples. After handing over the bikes, we will set off in the direction of Herculaneum. Depending on our personal abilities and training, we may consider renting an e-bike (extra charge of 15€).
We will be immersed in the unspoilt nature of the Vesuvius National Park and enjoy breathtaking views.
Depending on the season, we will be able to smell the scent of broom and find the slopes of Vesuvius illuminated by yellow flowers or observe the mantle of silver moss covering some of the rocks. The most fascinating spectacle, however, will surely be the lava stone formations that seem to have been modelled by a talented artist.
Once we reach the top of the Gran Cono, at an altitude of 1,000 metres above sea level, we will have plenty of time for a few shots together and to let ourselves be captivated by the landscape. Back in the saddle, we will finally face the most enjoyable moment: the descent back to the starting point.
The route is approximately 10 km. The hike has a total duration of 4 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is at an intermediate level and requires some pedalling training.
The minimum age for participation is 15.

The tour runs from March to September, weather permitting, and is confirmed with a minimum of 4 participants.
It is possible to hire an electric bike at an extra cost of €30 (payable locally).
