Full description
Discover the beauty of the most elegant birds in the animal world, the pink flamingos, in the Pialassa della Baiona lagoon area near Ravenna. In the company of a guide, you will leave from Marina di Ravenna to reach theMarina Romea embarkation point, where you will board the boat that will take you to the lagoon.
Here you will spot the magnificent pink flamingos, which have created one of the largest permanent colonies in Italy. You will admire the delicate pink hues of their feathers as the sun sets on the horizon and enjoy a relaxing cruise through the lagoon waters.
Finally you will get back on your bike and switch on your headlamps to complete the ride back to your starting point. Cycling time will be about 1.5 hours, while the excursion will last a total of 5 hours.
What we will do
We will meet around 16.00 in Marina di Ravenna, at the meeting point indicated in the booking confirmation. Here we will meet our guide and have a short briefing before setting off.
Once we have climbed into the saddle, we will begin our ride through the wonderful evergreens of the surrounding pine forests. We will reach the Marina Romea embarkation point, where we will board the boat that will sail in the lagoon for approximately 3 hours. We will thus be able to spot the many species that populate this area.
In the 1970s, a colony of pink flamingos chose these territories after abandoning the Camargue region of France due to a long period of drought. Since then, the pink flamingos have never left their new home. They can be spotted both in autumn and spring, when they perform the fascinating dance of reproduction amidst a thousand shades of pink.
On board our boat, we will be able to spot these magnificent specimens as the sun sets on the horizon. Not only that, but we can take photos and videos to capture the flamingos, which can reach a wingspan of up to 160 cm in the case of males.
Besides flamingos, the area is populated by many other species, from herons to coral gulls and oystercatchers.
Once we get off the boat, we mount our bikes again by switching on the headlamps and return to the starting point at around 9pm. In total, the route will take about 1.5 hours, while the activity will last a total of 5 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The excursion is aimed at everyone. The route is also suitable for children from the age of 10 with a minimum of cycling experience.
Other information
The tour runs from April to September every day and is confirmed on reaching a minimum of 5 participants.
On request, it is possible to request a helmet at a cost of €3 and an e-bike instead of the normal bicycle provided for the tour.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
