Do you know why the houses in Burano are so colourful? Legend has it that they were used by fishermen to find their way home on days of thick fog!
Come and find out on this 6. 5-hour boat trip departing from Venice and explore the islands of Burano and Murano. The highlight? An exciting demonstration of glassblowing in a traditional furnace!
What we will do
The appointment is 15 minutes before the indicated time at the meeting point in Venice (VE). We will be able to choose to embark from Santa Lucia Station or from Piazza San Marco Cornoldi, depending on the option selected at the time of booking.
Awaiting us will be the crew and guide who will accompany us on our excursion in the Venice Lagoon! Once the boarding of all passengers is complete, we will set sail aboard the boat to head towards Burano.
During the scenic navigation we will admire the smaller islands of the lagoon. Once disembarked, we will have 2 hours of free time to stroll through the alleys, photograph the super-coloured houses, and discover the island's typical handmade lace .
Afterwards, we will re-board to reach Murano. Here we will stop for one and a half hours and have the opportunity to visit a historical furnace. We will attend an engaging live demonstration of glassmaking (approx. 30 minutes) by a master craftsman. At the end of the demonstration, we can continue our discovery of the island on our own.
Once our time is up, we will embark to return to Venice, either to San Marco or to Santa Lucia Station, depending on the option selected.
The activity will last a total of approximately 6. 5 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for all without age limits; children under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The boat is not accessible for wheelchair users and persons with reduced mobility.
Other information
The activity takes place from 1 May to 11 September, Monday to Friday, and from 18 September to 28 March on the days indicated in the schedule.
During the tour, there are two technical stops, solely for boarding and disembarking passengers, at San Marco - Cornoldi and Punta Sabbioni.
The organiser has several boats in its fleet, chosen according to the number of participants. These are Gran Turismo boats and motorboats, between 18 and 21 metres long, all equipped with a sound system with microphone and indoor seating.
Dogs are welcome on board.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
