In the Po Delta there is an island called Isola dell'Amore (Island of Love) , a lighthouse that now observes more flamingos than ships, and a place where the sea and the river have continued to challenge each other for centuries. We will take you there by boat.
Board the motorboat Stella and set off on a 2½-hour excursion into the heart of one of Italy's most amazing ecosystems. Amidst pink flamingos, historic lighthouses and landscapes suspended between the Po and the Adriatic Sea, you will feel as if you are far away from Emilia-Romagna!
What we will do
The appointment is 20 minutes before the indicated time at the meeting point in Gorino (FE) . Here we will be welcomed by the staff, who will accompany us to board the motorboat Stella, ideal for moving among the canals and seabed of the lagoon.
We will set sail to discover the Po Delta of Gorino, a wild and unspoilt area that is home to over 300 species of birds. During navigation we will be able to spot flamingos, herons, marsh harriers and black-winged stilts, while the captain will guide us along the route, revealing the secrets of this brackish ecosystem.
The itinerary includes two very evocative guided stops. The first stop will be at the Lanterna Vecchia, an ancient lighthouse now converted into a privileged observation point for birdwatching. Here we will understand how the Po, by continuously depositing its sediments, has shifted the coastline over time.
The second stop will take us to the Island of Love, a magnificent tongue of sand enclosed between the river and the Adriatic Sea. We will go ashore for about 30 minutes on the island's pristine beach, dominated by its characteristic lighthouse, for a relaxing walk in the silence of nature.
The activity will end after about 2½ hours with a return to the starting point.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is open to all, with no age limit. Minors must, however, be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The motorboat is not wheelchair accessible. There are no restrictions for pregnant women.
Other information
The experience is available every Saturday in July and August and is confirmed with a minimum of 2 participants.
The excursion takes place mainly on the motorboat Stella, with a canopy and comfortable cushions. In the event of less than optimal weather conditions, in order to guarantee departure and comfort, the captain will use another 53-seater motorboat that is partially covered and wheelchair-accessible.
Small and medium-sized dogs are allowed on board on a leash and muzzle.
Free and paid parking spaces are available at the meeting point. The location is difficult to reach by public transport.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
