Full description
The boat tour to the Island of Ortigia and the Lovers' Grotto is the perfect excursion to take as a couple with your partner or to spend a different moment with a friend.
On board a motorboat you will discover the wonders of Ortigia Island, the oldest part of Syracuse, from Maniace Castle to the Arethusa Spring, a pool of water that meets the Ionian Sea.
The tour will also give you a chance to visit the famous Lovers' Cave. Finally, you will wait for the sunset while enjoying a delicious aperitif with typical Sicilian products and local wine or prosecco. We are waiting for you!
What we will do
The rendezvous is at 18:30 in Syracuse. Upon arrival, we will be welcomed by the skipper who will take us to the Porto Umbertino, where we will find an 8-metre boat waiting for us. Once everyone is on board, we will set off to discover theisland of Ortigia.
On board the boat we will admire the wonders of the island, dominated by historical buildings such as the Maniace Castle, the small but suggestive Levante coastline, and the Arethusa Spring. The tour will then take us to the Grotta degli innamorati (Lovers' Grotto), so called because of its peculiar heart shape.
Before returning to the pier, we will make a stop to be enchanted by the sunset while we are offered an aperitif with typical Sicilian products and a bottle of prosecco or wine. The excursion lasts an hour and a half in all.
Who it is aimed at
The hike is suitable for everyone, with no age limit. However, it is not recommended for pregnant women from the seventh month onwards. The boat is not wheelchair accessible.
Other information
The tour can be booked from May to September and is confirmed with a minimum of 4 participants.
The boat is 8.20 metres long and is equipped with an awning, stereo, platform, table and all necessary safety equipment.
Children aged 0 to 3 years can participate free of charge.

The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
